Walk-in tubs for Miami and Miami-Dade homes
From Miami Beach high-rises to Kendall ranch homes, Miami-Dade bathrooms come in every shape. Here is how to plan a safer bath here, and who to call for local senior help.
Direct answer: Yes, we install walk-in tubs, transfer tubs and roll-in showers across Miami-Dade, from Miami Beach condos to Kendall and Homestead homes. Condo buildings usually need an association application first, and compact models fit many smaller Miami bathrooms. Call 1-888-779-2284 for a free quote.
Serving Miami-DadeA safer bath in a city of condos
Condominium living is a way of life in much of Miami-Dade. Many projects here start with a building, not a house: a unit on the 14th floor in Brickell, a 1970s co-op in North Miami Beach, an oceanfront tower in Sunny Isles. Those projects are very doable. They just involve more people than a single-family home.
We help homeowners across Miami-Dade choose and install walk-in tubs, wheelchair transfer tubs and roll-in showers. We do not have a Miami showroom. We work by phone, photos and an in-home measure, then handle the install from start to finish.

Planning a walk-in tub in a Miami condo or co-op
Condo bathrooms in older Miami towers are often compact, and many units have a standard 60-inch tub alcove. That is good news, because many walk-in tubs are built for that space. The extra work is mostly paperwork and logistics.
Association approval
Most buildings want an alteration application before any plumbing work. Expect requests for a description of the work, the contractor's license and certificate of insurance, and the work schedule. Co-op boards may ask for more. Ask management for the form early.
Elevators and loading docks
A boxed walk-in tub is large. Buildings usually require a reserved service elevator, padded walls and use of the loading area. Measure the elevator door and cab depth along with your unit's doorways.
Work hours and noise
Many associations limit work to weekdays and set quiet hours. Removing a cast iron tub is noisy. We schedule around the rules your building sets.
Weight and plumbing stacks
A filled walk-in tub with a bather is heavy. In towers, the floor and the shared drain stack matter. Keeping the drain where it is avoids touching common plumbing whenever possible.
Small bathroom? Compact models exist. The Ella Mobile is 26 by 45 inches, and the Petite is 28 inches wide. Our measuring guide shows what to measure.
Single-family homes, from Hialeah to Homestead
Away from the coast, much of Miami-Dade is single-story concrete block homes on slabs, built across many decades. For a walk-in tub, a slab means the drain location is the key detail. Ordering the tub with the same drain side as your current tub usually means no concrete cutting.
Older homes in neighborhoods like Coral Gables, Miami Shores and the historic parts of Coconut Grove can have original tile and plaster walls. Removing an old tub may expose wall damage, so we look at the surround before quoting and plan a clean finish.
For a household with one bathroom, plan the install day around it. We will too.

Compact options for small Miami bathrooms
Many older Miami Beach and North Miami Beach condos, and plenty of Little Havana and Allapattah homes, have bathrooms where every inch counts. The good news is that walk-in tubs are not one size. Here are the options we usually look at first when space is tight.
| Model | Size | Why it helps in a small room |
|---|---|---|
| Ella Mobile | 26" W x 45" L, 19" seat | Short and narrow, made for condos and small baths |
| Ella Petite | 28" W x 52" L, 19" seat | Slim inward-swing design that moves through narrow openings |
| Meditub compact models | 26" x 46" and 27" x 39" footprints | Budget-friendly options for very tight spaces |
Two more space savers: an inward-swing door needs no floor clearance in front of the tub, and a filler panel closes the gap when a shorter tub goes into a 60-inch alcove. If the bather uses a wheelchair, a compact roll-in shower may serve better than any tub. We will measure the room, the doorways and the elevator before suggesting a model, and we will tell you honestly if a shower is the better fit.
Flood zones and storm season in Miami-Dade
Much of coastal Miami-Dade, including Miami Beach and other barrier island communities, sits in mapped flood zones. Local building departments apply floodplain rules to improvements in those areas. A bathroom upgrade is usually modest compared with a home's value, but if you are doing several projects or post-storm repairs, ask the building department how it counts improvement costs. Our climate guide explains the 50 percent rule.
Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30 and can shift shipping and install dates. Humidity is high most of the year here, so we always check that the bathroom exhaust fan vents outside.
